Developed and implemented the Constructing Physics Understanding in a Computer-Supported Learning Environment project (CPU) workshop on force, motion and light in response to a request by the Delaware Science Coalition, who led a systemic reform effort in the area of elementary science. Screened and recommended elementary teachers previously involved in the Delaware education reform effort and the 1997 summer institute for lead teacher/peer mentor positions across Delaware.  Mentored and counseled the lead teacher candidates to work with classroom teachers in their school districts on science content understanding and the constructivist pedagogy modeled in the SISU Workshops.  Guided middle school teachers seeking concept development in the area of physics and the CPU pedagogy by modeling the constructivist approach while teaching the concepts force and motion.

Developed curriculum in Earth Science with the Special Education Department using a hands on team approach taught cooperatively with a Special Education teacher which later became known as Team Approach to Mastery (TAM).  Modeled TAM for other districts and had it extended to grades and disciplines in my home school (Program is currently an integral part of Delaware Elementary schools) varied class structure designed to meet the varied needs of its student clientele.  Organized and sponsored a school-wide student science project fair and science career fair planned and hosted for the entire school by eighth grade students.  Presented science fair/science career fair annually alternating them yearly for many years.  Organized and executed an interdisciplinary Geology unit that culminated yearly with an overnight camping trip to Ashland Nature Center that included Geology of Ashland, exploration and examination of rock and mineral samples found at a local quarry.  Developed and implemented a hands-on thematic unit in a cooperative learning environment.  Developed a reading in the content area curriculum using Current Science Magazine to stimulate thinking, discussion and writing. Formed a partnership with the University of Delaware’s Mathematics and Science Departments to develop an integrated Math/Science curriculum for New Castle Middle School (NCMS).  Implemented an after school-tutoring program for at risk 8th grade students.  Secured a partnership with Bell Atlantic of Pennsylvania, which provided an engineer to work with student generated projects, to help solicit corporate computer donations and telecommunication’s technology for our school ((NCMS).
